Thirteen-time Uganda Premier League champions KCCA FC have officially unveiled their squad and new kits for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
This was during a fan event held on Tuesday, September 10, at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
In front of fans, the club introduced 26 players for the upcoming season. KCCA had the same number of players approved by FUFA for the season, making them the team with the largest number of players in the league.
The squad includes 3 goalkeepers, 8 defenders, 9 midfielders and 6 forwards, with coach Abdallah Mubiru set to led the team again for the upcoming season.
Notably, the squad includes new signings Derrick Nsibambi, who will don the No. 9 jersey, and forward Sammy Ssebadduka, who joined on a three-year contract and will wear the No. 22 shirt.
Alongside the squad, the club also showcased their new kits for the upcoming campaign. The home kit features the club’s signature yellow with a touch of blue, while the away kit will be blue.
The club announced its leadership team, with Julius Poloto retaining the captain’s armband. He will be assisted by Filbert Obenchan, Mustafa Mujuzi, Arafat Usama, and Ashraf Mugume as his vice-captains.
The unveiling event also featured a match between club legends and Ex-Uganda Internationals, with the legends cruising to a 6-0 victory.
KCCA finished fifth last season, and despite a shaky start to the season, they finished as one of the most on-form teams, recording 7 wins in their last 10 UPL games.
The Lugogo-based side will be aiming to continue their run when they kick off their new StarTimes Uganda Premier League campaign on Friday, September 13, hosting URA.
