Crested Cranes midfielder Violah Nambi has parted ways with Italian Serie A side Napoli Femminile following a mutual agreement.
The Ugandan international leaves the club after a short stint during which she made just three league appearances.
Napoli confirmed her departure in an official statement:
“Napoli Femminile communicates the consensual termination of the contract with the midfielder Violah Nambi. We thank Violah for her commitment during the period spent with the blue shirt and wish her the best for the continuation of her career.”
Nambi joined Napoli at the start of the season, having previously played for clubs in Sweden and Austria.
Her move to Serie A was initially seen as a significant step forward for her career and Ugandan women’s football. However, limited game time curtailed her impact at the club.
The midfielder, who was part of Uganda’s squad for the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, is expected to explore new opportunities as she seeks more consistent playing time to further her career.
