Uganda Premier League leaders Vipers SC have the most representatives in the Uganda Cranes squad set to compete in the upcoming FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mozambique and Guinea.
Head coach Paul Put has named a 26-man provisional squad, with Vipers contributing three key players—defender Torach Rogers and midfielders Watambala Abdu Karim and Allan Okello.
Okello, who has been instrumental for both club and country, is currently the league’s top scorer, further cementing his influence in the squad.
SC Villa has two players in the squad: Ronald Ssekiganda and Patrick Kakande, while Rwandan giants APR FC have also provided two players—Denis Omedi and Hakim Kiwanuka.
However, APR’s Taddeo Lwanga, a regular in previous Cranes squads, has been left out due to ongoing injury struggles.
The Cranes face a crucial doubleheader, first taking on Mozambique on March 20 in Cairo, Egypt, before returning home to host Guinea on March 25 at Mandela National Stadium in Kampala.
With Uganda currently fifth in Group G and level on points with Botswana and Guinea, these matches will be critical in their quest for a maiden World Cup qualification.
