E-Play Billiards Dominate Corporate Shooters

By Peter Kyobe

Matchday 22 of the Nile Special National Pool League on Sunday delivered no surprises across the eight fixtures, as table leaders Rox Berry, Upper Volta, and Scrap Buyers secured away wins to maintain the three-horse race at the top of the table.

Rox Berry defeated Mbale, Upper Volta overcame Nakawa Rangers, and Scrap Buyers triumphed over Pot-It Pool Club.

E-Play Billiards showcased their intent early, taking a 3-1 lead through Geoffrey Lutaaya, Farouk Mutumba, and Ivan Sennyonjo.

The hosts responded with two frames from Ronald Wana and captain Hassan Mutyaba, but E-Play Billiards roared back with dominant performances by youngsters Herbert Nsamba, Geoffrey Lutaaya, Yahaya Mpindi, and Ivan Sennyonjo.

Although Corporate Shooters claimed the 10th frame to trail 7-3 at halftime, they faced an uphill battle after the break.

In the second half, E-Play Billiards maintained their momentum as Herbert Mukisa and Ivan Sennyonjo won two frames each, extending the score to 12-6 with two frames remaining.

Despite securing the victory, E-Play Billiards needed to win the last two frames to claim the elusive bonus point, awarded upon reaching 14 frames.

Corporate Shooters’ Eddie Kawuki and Ronald Wana delivered late wins to salvage a point for the hosts and deny E-Play Billiards the bonus.

E-Play Billiards currently sit 10th with 39 points, while Corporate Shooters trail in 11th with 38 points.

At the summit, Rox Berry lead the standings with 71 points, followed by Upper Volta (65 points) and Scrap Buyers (63 points).
