Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres is pushing hard for his move to Arsenal, reportedly agreeing to forgo €2 million (£1.7m/$2.3m) of his salary from Sporting CP.
This significant sacrifice underscores his strong desire to join the Gunners, for whom he has openly expressed his sole ambition to play this summer.
Gyokeres has reportedly refused to return to Sporting for pre-season, further signaling his intent.
While Sporting initially demanded €80 million, Gyokeres’ willingness to compromise on his wages is expected to accelerate negotiations, bringing Arsenal closer to securing the prolific forward.
Since joining Sporting, Gyokeres has been exceptional, netting 68 goals and 17 assists in just 66 Liga Portugal games, along with six Champions League goals.
His arrival will be a major boost for Arsenal as they prepare for their pre-season tour, with Gyokeres eager to make his Premier League debut.
