On Thursday morning, FUFA introduced Paul Put, a Belgian tactician , as the new head coach of the Uganda Cranes. Taking over from the Serbian Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic, who had been relieved of his duties by FUFA after a series of good and questionable results.
During a press briefing at FUFA House, the 67-year-old was officially revealed as the head coach, with a two-year contract. Paul Put, the newly appointed head coach of the Uganda Cranes, brings a wealth of coaching expertise from his experience with various clubs and national teams, which includes the following:
- 2008–2011: Gambia
- 2012–2015: Burkina Faso
- 2015–2016: Jordan
- 2016–2017: USM Alger
- 2017–2018: Kenya
- 2018: Xinjiang Tianshan Leopard
- 2018–2019: Guinea
- 2020–2021: Saif SC
- 2021: Congo
