Uganda’s junior athletics team is putting on a show in Abeokuta, Nigeria, with a string of standout performances at the 4th Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) U18 and U20 Championships.

Leading the charge is team captain Chepkwurui Nancy, who stormed to gold in the 1500m.

She was joined by Bentalin Yeko, who clinched gold in the 3000m, and Cherop Samuel, who powered to victory in the 10,000m.

The trio’s heroics have pushed Uganda’s medal tally to five—three golds and two bronze—as of July 18.

The championships, which have gathered the continent’s top young athletes, run through July 20.

Uganda still has medal contenders in several events, including the long jump, 400m, 800m, 5,000m, 200m, and 100m finals.
