The Uganda Cranes will announce their final squad for the 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) on Monday, July 28, 2025, FUFA has confirmed.
According to the federation’s Communications Director Ahmed Hussein, the team selection will be revealed at 11am from FUFA Complex in Mengo.
The current technical team led by Morley Byekwaso and Coach Muhumuza will be responsible for unveiling the final list of players who will represent Uganda in the continental tournament.
Uganda heads into CHAN 2024 as one of the three host nations, alongside Kenya and Tanzania, and therefore qualified automatically.
However, the Cranes opted to play the qualifiers for preparation purposes and went on to defeat Burundi 2-0 on aggregate—results that helped fine-tune the squad.
Set to make their seventh appearance at CHAN, the Cranes have been drawn in Group C where they will face South Africa, Guinea, Niger, and Algeria. Uganda kicks off their campaign on August 4 against Algeria.
The announcement comes at a time when final preparations are in full swing, with the team recently taking part in media and marketing activities ahead of the tournament’s kickoff.
Uganda is aiming to go beyond the group stages for the first time in its CHAN history.
