Liverpool have agreed to sell striker Darwin Núñez to Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal for £46.3 million.
The 26-year-old Uruguayan, who spent two seasons with the Reds, is now expected to undergo a medical to complete the move.
Núñez’s departure follows a season where he made only eight Premier League starts, despite scoring 40 goals in 143 appearances for Liverpool since his £64 million transfer from Benfica in 2022.
The sale is seen as a strategic financial move for the club, potentially funding their pursuit of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, who is valued at around £150 million.
This transaction is part of a busy summer at Anfield, which has seen the Reds spend over £250 million on new signings, including Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, while also selling Luis Díaz and Tyler Morton.
Núñez, who had attracted interest from Napoli, will now join an Al-Hilal squad that includes former Premier League players like Rúben Neves and Aleksandar Mitrović.
