The third leg of the I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series delivered more than just competitive golf at Entebbe Club on Saturday, with Johnnie Walker adding a bold twist to the event’s famed 19th hole experience.
After a gruelling day on the course, golfers and guests swapped clubs for cowboy hats in a themed celebration hosted by comedian Patrick Idringi Salvador, with DJ Shock on the decks.
As the official beverage partner, Johnnie Walker kept glasses full with signature cocktails like the 1820 Sour, Johnnie & Ginger, and Johnnie Colada, alongside premium bottles from its range.
Josephine Njoroge, Finance and Strategy Director at Uganda Breweries Limited, said the brand was committed to enhancing moments of celebration. She also encouraged golfers to look forward to the upcoming Johnnie Walker Uganda Open Golf Championship, which tees off August 22 in Lugazi.
Ahead of each Katogo Series event, Johnnie Walker runs a week-long online quiz with tournament-themed trivia.
This time, Ellis Katwebaze topped the scoreboard with 18 points, earning a bottle of Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve. Other winners included Anthony Agaba (17 points), Haggai Kijjambu (18 points), Hellen Kisinde (18 points), and Cathy Natukunda (19 points).
On the course, Team Harima, made up of Moses Ochole and Mulungi Sseruwo, claimed the overall title with 609 points, winning RwandAir tickets and other prizes. I&M Bank CEO Robin Bairstow confirmed the series will continue with a regional edition in Kigali on November 8 before the season finale on November 29.
