Ahead of the 2025 National Basketball League playoffs tipping off this evening at Lugogo Indoor Arena, RezLife Saints forward Francis Kasinde has expressed confidence as his side prepares for their first-ever postseason appearance.
The Najjanankumbi-based outfit faces top seeds Namuwongo Blazers tomorrow in a best-of-three first-round series. The Saints, coached by Moses Okwera, closed the regular season with a 12-10 record and are looking to make their mark on debut.
“The Saints are here to compete. We have personal goals to achieve with the tremendous moves we made. We’ve fought our way back to the NBL after relegation, and we’re hoping to reach the finals to crown our comeback,” Kasinde said.
Although they lost both regular season meetings with the Blazers, 79-60 and 90-80, Kasinde remains upbeat about their chances.
Tonight’s opening fixtures will feature a university derby between KIU Rangers and UCU Lady Canons at 7 pm, while Sommet BC take on KCCA Panthers in the men’s clash. All games will be broadcast live on NBS Sport and Afromobile.
