Amanda Anisimova concluded her breakout year by defeating Linda Noskova to win the China Open, claiming her second career WTA 1,000 title.
The world number four and runner-up at this year’s Wimbledon and US Open, overcame a mixed performance against Noskova in the final, securing the victory with a score of 6-0, 2-6, 6-2.
Anisimova dominated the opener with a 6-0 “bagel,” but Noskova, playing in her first WTA 1,000 final, fought back to take the second set 6-2.
Anisimova reasserted control in the decider to clinch the trophy.
“It’s been an incredible few weeks,” said the American star after the “really special” win.
