The European World Cup play-off draw has set the stage for two dramatic single-leg matches to qualify for the 2026 tournament.
Wales secured a significant advantage in Path A, drawing a home semi-final against Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Crucially, the winner of this match will also host the final, meaning Wales could play both decisive games at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Northern Ireland face the toughest possible draw, traveling to meet four-time World Cup winners Italy in their semi-final. If they win, they must then play the final away against either Wales or Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The Republic of Ireland will travel to the Czech Republic.
The semi-finals are scheduled for March 26, 2026, with the finals following on March 31.
Sixteen teams are competing for four World Cup spots. The full tournament draw will take place on December 5 in Washington DC.
