Manchester United have confirmed that Patrick Dorgu faces several weeks on the sidelines after injuring his hamstring during Sunday’s 3-2 win at Arsenal.
The 21-year-old Dane, who scored a spectacular goal in the victory, limped off late in the match. While interim coach Michael Carrick initially hoped the issue was only cramp, assessments have revealed a more significant injury.
Dorgu has been in sensational form, scoring in back-to-back games against Manchester City and Arsenal since moving into an advanced attacking role.
His absence is a major blow for United, who face eight games before the March international break, and for Denmark ahead of their World Cup play-offs.
In his absence, Matheus Cunha—the match-winner against Arsenal—is expected to return to the starting lineup.
