The USA Women have arrived in Uganda ahead of the Easter Women’s T20 Cup, touching down in Entebbe early on Tuesday morning as preparations for the tournament enter the final phase.
The Americans are the first of the visiting sides to land for the series, which will be hosted at Entebbe Cricket Oval from April 7 to 16. They join hosts Victoria Pearls and Uganda A Women, with Nepal Women also expected in the country.
Organised by Cricket Uganda, the tournament will serve as a developmental competition, giving teams valuable match practice in non-T20 International fixtures.
For USA and Nepal, the tour forms part of their build-up to the ICC Women’s Challenge Trophy, set to take place in Rwanda later this month.
Match action begins on April 9, with USA scheduled to face Uganda in one of the opening fixtures. The round-robin format will see teams play multiple games across six match days before departure on April 16.
The early arrival gives USA time to acclimatise and train before the competition gets underway, as all sides look to maximise preparation in a tournament focused on development and match exposure.
