Former Uganda Cranes striker and GK Sport Academy director Gibby Kalule has petitioned the Inspector General of Government, Lady Justice Aisha Naluzze Batala, calling for an investigation and prosecution over alleged corruption, mismanagement, and abuse of office at the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).
In the petition, Kalule argues that the same principles which prompted action against the Speaker should apply with equal — if not greater — force to her husband, Moses Hassim Magogo, who has presided over FUFA for twelve years.
“The evidence against Mr. Magogo is overwhelming. His crimes are well-documented. The misappropriation is public record. Yet he remains in power, shielded by political connections and, regrettably, by the inaction of those who should hold him accountable — including, until now, the football bodies CAF and FIFA,” reads part of the petition.
Kalule further contends that the ongoing investigation already initiated by the Inspectorate confirms the state’s authority and duty to act where public funds are involved.
He insists that for Ugandan football to progress, and for stakeholders — including government — to have a rightful say in how the game is run, Moses Magogo must be removed from office.
