Everton have branded a £35m compensation order to Burnley over Profit and Sustainability breaches as “dangerous.”
An independent panel ruled the overspend in 2021/22 contributed to Burnley’s relegation, following Everton’s earlier 10‑point deduction — later cut to six. The Clarets now stand to benefit, though Everton have lodged an appeal.

Hill Dickinson Stadium chiefs condemned the judgement as “fundamentally flawed,” warning it sets an unworkable precedent.
The club insists evidence was misrepresented, remains confident of PSR compliance, and reassured fans that ownership is focused on restoring Everton to the elite.
