Uganda Cranes midfielder Taddeo Lwanga is reportedly on the verge of joining Kenyan Premier League giants AFC Leopards from Vipers SC, marking the end of his latest stint at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Lwanga played a pivotal role in Vipers’ successful 2025/26 Uganda Premier League campaign, featuring in 23 of the club’s 30 league matches as the Venoms marched to the title. His consistency and leadership underlined his importance in the championship-winning squad.
The 32-year-old brings vast experience from across the continent, having previously turned out for APR FC in Rwanda, Simba SC in Tanzania, and Tanta SC in Egypt, alongside spells with Vipers and other Ugandan clubs. Reports suggest AFC Leopards view him as a key addition to strengthen their midfield with defensive solidity and continental know-how ahead of the new season.
Meanwhile, Vipers have already moved to reinforce their squad, securing the services of Joel Sserunjogi from KCCA FC as preparations intensify for the upcoming campaign.
If finalized, Lwanga’s move would add another chapter to his decorated career, following a season in which he helped Vipers reclaim league supremacy before eyeing a fresh challenge in Kenya.
