Gymnastics: Third International Schools Meet Showcases Rising Talent

In a bid to spread the reach of gymnastics across Uganda, the Gymnastics Association of Uganda received a significant boost with the hosting of the third International Schools Gymnastics Meet. Organized in collaboration with renowned gymnastics coach Lea Ampaire, the event showcased the burgeoning talent within the region.

The event, held at the French School of Kampala, saw the participation of five schools, including Seven Hills International School, Acorns, The North Green School, Heritage International School, and the host school itself. With an emphasis on fostering a competitive yet nurturing environment, participants engaged in various disciplines, including tumbling, women’s artistic gymnastics (level one to four), men’s artistic gymnastics, Parkour, and Beam.

With each routine, the gymnasts captivated the audience with their skill, grace, and determination. From daring flips to precise maneuvers, the competition showcased the remarkable talent present within the Ugandan gymnastics community.

In a statement, organizers expressed their satisfaction with the event’s success, highlighting the importance of such competitions in nurturing young talent and promoting the sport’s growth nationwide.

As the gymnastics community in Uganda continues to expand, events like the International Schools Gymnastics Meet play a crucial role in providing aspiring athletes with opportunities to develop their skills and compete on a broader stage. With each iteration, the meet serves as a testament to the passion and dedication driving the sport forward in the region.
