During the 2022 Uganda Seniors open golf championship at the par 72 Uganda Golf Club, David Plenderleith and Monica Ntege Azuba won the overall gross championship men and women titles, respectively.
The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) sponsored the day-long tournament in honor of the annual Aviation Week, which has been conducted since 1994.
Plenderleith scored 80 gross to outperform the rest of the field in the gross category, while Ntege scored 85 gross to take first place in the women’ category.
oBth golfers received trophies as well as roundtrip plane tickets to any Uganda Airlines destination.
Dr. James Ssekajugo won the men’s nett event with 72 points, while Esther Okullo won the ladies’ nett event with 74 points.
In the other categories, Ambrose Akandonda (73 nett) won the gold group (70 years and beyond), and Luka Abe (74 nett – countback) was the best lady.
On countback, Paddy Muramira won the silver event (65-69 years) with 78 nett, beating out Patrick Kagoro.
Dube Zephania won the bronze category (55 to 64 years) on countback with 74 nett, beating out Joseph Bagabo.
