USM Alger advanced to the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup final after a 1-1 draw away to Olympique Safi, progressing on away goals.
Ahmed Khaldi’s stoppage-time penalty in the first half proved decisive, despite Moussa Koné levelling for Safi in the 75th minute.
The Moroccan side dominated but failed to convert their 41 shots into the second goal they needed, while USM Alger’s disciplined defence held firm.
The Algerians become the first club from their country to reach the final twice, having won the trophy in 2023.
They now prepare for a two-legged final against Egypt’s Zamalek, with the first leg in Algiers next month before the return in Cairo.
