KCCA FC moved top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League thanks to an easy victory over Kampala rivals Express FC.

The Kasasiro Boys were in free-flowing mode on the day, winning the contest at Lugogo 3-0.

A first half penalty converted by Moses Waiswa set the tone before Congolese striker Simon Tshisungu Kankonde and Charles Lwanga came off the bench to add one goal apiece.

Waiswa was perfect from 12 yards in the second minute after Allan Okello had been fouled in the box by Andrew Kaggwa.

Muhammad Shaban nearly doubled the lead eight minutes later but Express goalkeeper Dennis Otim was alert to deny the former Onduparaka FC and Vipers SC striker.

Kankonde then came off the bench to replace Rogers Mato, ghosted through the Express backline and fired in his first goal of the season.

Lwanga who also came off the bench put the icing on the cake with a cool finish in the 84th minute to put the game to bed.

Victory takes KCCA FC back to the top of the table on 25 points, two ahead of second-placed Vipers with both teams having played 11 games.

For Express, they have now lost four games on the trot and this leaves them ninth with 14 points.
