East African Schools Games 2023: Ugandan Schools Shine in Opening Matches

The 2023 East African Schools Games commenced this past weekend with a spectacular opening ceremony hosted at the Huye stadium in Rwanda. Ugandan schools have made an impressive start in their quest to reclaim the overall championship they secured last year in Tanzania.

Notable results include St. Noah Girls defeating GS Gatizo 1-0 in girls’ football, while Kawempe Muslim secured a 3-1 victory against Butere Girls from Kenya. In boys’ football, Kibuli SS played to a 1-1 draw with St. Mary’s Kitende, who earlier triumphed 3-0 against Kiwira Coal Mine from Tanzania.
