After an impressive seven-year journey with Uganda Premier League side URA FC, goalkeeper Alionzi Nafian has bid farewell to the tax collectors. His illustrious tenure with the club began when he made the switch from the now-relegated Onduparaka FC.
News of his departure came through a report by Pulse Sports, suggesting that Nafian was on the brink of finalizing a move to Ethiopian Defence Forces, known domestically as Mekelakeya SC.
In an official statement released by URA FC, the club conveyed their gratitude and best wishes for the talented shot-stopper. The statement read, “Goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi has officially left URA FC. The shot-stopper has joined Ethiopian top-tier side Mekelakeya SC on a one-year contract. The move ends his seven-year stay with us, having joined in 2016 from Onduparaka FC. Everyone at URA FC would like to thank Mr. Safe Hands for all the memories at the club, including your leadership and discipline. We wish you all the best of luck at your new home.”
