2024 Inaugural I&M Katogo Golf Series Tees Off with Excitement and Skill

The inaugural edition of the 2024 I&M Katogo Golf Series took place on Saturday, March 9th, 2024, at the picturesque par-71 lakeside Entebbe Club, with live coverage provided by Uganda’s only 24-hour TV channel, NBS SPORT.

Various formats of play were employed for all participating golfers, including ‘In Regulation,’ ‘Tee for Me,’ ‘Russian Chicago Stableford,’ and ‘Double Bogey Danger.’

Prizes were awarded to the gross winner, runners-up, second runners-up, Hole in One achievers, nearest to the pin, and longest drive, catering to both genders.

The 19th hole experience was enhanced with the presence of DJ Alisha.

The inaugural event of the I&M Bank Golf Series attracted a turnout of over 60 golfers.

Notable winners included Paul Habyarimana in group A, Brian Omeda in group B, and Omar Badreldin in group C. Shalom Kayenje stood out in the ladies’ category.

In side-bet categories, Berna Musanabera and Darius Mugisha emerged victorious in the longest drive, while no golfer managed to hit a hole in one. Peace Kabasweka and Lino Anguzu excelled in the nearest to the pin competition.

The day-long tournament was meticulously organized by the Katogo Golf franchise, with support from Rwandair, GA Insurance, Renault Uganda, NBS Sport (the official media partner), Fenon Records, Kampala Serena Hotel, Time Cop Security, and Goldmans.

* Winner: Brian Omeda
* Runners up: Collins Acellam

* 2nd Runners up: Darwin Angudri

* Winner: Sarah Nduhukire
* Runners up: Melon Kyomugisha
* 2nd Runners up: Faith Namara

* Winner: Shalom Kayenje
* Runners up: Dinah Angol Acen
* 2nd Runners up: Peace Hellen
