Two days ago, Allan Kyambadde received his much-awaited call-up to the national team ahead of two friendly games against Morocco and Ghana scheduled for March 18th to 26th.
However, unfortunately , Kyambadde, while featuring for his club El Dhakhleya on Sunday, played only the first two minutes as they lost 2-0 to Pyramids in the Egyptian Premier League. Kyambadde was seen in significant pain after an opponent player accidentally fell on his ankle, seemingly dislocating it.
As we await the final assessment from the club, it appears unlikely that Kyambadde will be fit for the national team’s matches starting on the 18th.
This injury setback adds to the challenges for the Cranes, as Khalid Aucho and Aziz Kayondo were also supposed to be called up but missed out due to injury, according to sources.
Kyambadde has earned 22 Uganda Cranes caps and scored a goal against Somalia at Lugogo.
