Uganda’s U20 Women’s National Team, the Queen Cranes, soared to victory against Ethiopia at the African Games 2023 in Ghana.
The match, held at the Cape Coast Stadium, witnessed the Queen Cranes triumph with a resounding 2-0 win over their Ethiopian counterparts.
Captain Catherine Nagadya and left back Docus Lwalisa netted the goals for the Queen Cranes in the first half.
Despite a fight back from Ethiopia in the second half, Uganda’s defense stood firm, with goalkeeper Sharon Kaidu making crucial saves to keep the opposition at bay.
With this victory, Uganda secures four points from two games and sets their sights on their upcoming clash against hosts Ghana.
A win or draw against Ghana in their final group game will see the Queen Cranes advance to the semifinals of the All-Africa Games.
