The National Basketball League experienced intense action in Game Week 8, as fans were treated to a series of electrifying matchups featuring upsets, comebacks, and dominant performances.
The weekend commenced with an astonishing upset as the Miracle Ravens shocked title contenders KCCA Leopards. In a tightly contested battle, the Ravens displayed tenacity and teamwork, securing a narrow 76-75 victory and ending the Leopards’ unbeaten run.
Led by standout players Akello Winnifred, Brenda Alyano, Lilian Cherotich, and Susan Amito, the Miracle Ravens showcased resilience and determination, leaving their opponents struggling to keep pace.
Meanwhile, City Oilers reclaimed their winning form with a convincing 85-73 win over KCCA Panthers. Tonny Drileba, Jimmy Enabu, Edrine Walujjo, and Benjamin Kawumi combined for 57 points to lead City Oilers to victory.
At ABJA Parks in Naalya, Namuwongo Blazers delighted their home crowd by extending their winning streak, while Magic Stormers, JT Lady Jaguars, and Our Savior delivered impressive performances in their respective matches.
Sunday’s action at YMCA witnessed more thrilling contests, with JT Lady Jaguars overpowering YMCA Lady Hamstars 58-30.
KCCA Leopards dominated Magic Stormers 88-36, while City Oilers secured an 83-59 victory over Kampala Rockets.
Additionally, KCCA Panthers narrowly edged out Dmark Power 71-67 in a fiercely competitive encounter.
Kampala University also faced defeat at the hands of the Miracle Ravens with a scoreline of 43-98.
The National Basketball League will continue in Game week 9 starting this Wednesday March 20 when City Oilers face Livingstone.
