FUBA Enters A 2.6 Billion UGX Partnership With Bet Pawa

Ugandan sports has today seen a development in that a new partnership has been announced between the national sports teams and betting giant Bet Pawa UG. This collaboration marks the beginning of a three-year deal valued at 2.6 billion Uganda shillings, extending support to both the Gazelles and the Silverbacks.

Chief Brand Officer of Bet Pawa UG, Mr. Spencer Okach, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, “This partnership is just the beginning, and it’s a three-year partnership that amounts to 2.6 billion Uganda shillings covering both the Gazelles and the Silverbacks.”

One of the notable aspects of this partnership is the introduction of player and coaching staff incentives, particularly in the form of winning bonuses. Mr. Okach further revealed that “Each member of the squad will receive 150,000 UGX winning bonus for each game they win.”

Furthermore, players will benefit from medical insurance coverage, ensuring they receive necessary medical attention in case of injuries or other health-related issues during their national duties. This additional support underscores the commitment of Bet PawaUG to the well-being of Ugandan athletes.

State Minister for Sports, Peter Ogwang, expressed support for the partnership and proposed a motion to reduce taxes on the gaming and lottery sectors. He highlighted their significant contribution to sports in the country, indicating a desire to facilitate further support for sports development.

This partnership is a step forward for Ugandan sports, not only providing financial backing but also prioritizing the welfare of athletes. With increased incentives and medical coverage, players can focus on their performance with enhanced support from both the private and public sectors.
