The Kasasiro Boys are eyeing their chances for the CAF Confederation Cup, with hopes soaring after the quarter-finals draw for the 2024 Stanbic Uganda Cup was announced today.
KCCA path to the CAF Confederation Cup hinges on their performance in the Stanbic Uganda Cup with minimal or no chance of getting silverware in the UPL after they had a very poor start to the season . Securing a victory against Bul in the quarter-finals would pave the way for KCCA to advance to the semifinals and the finals and potentially clinch the Uganda Cup title.
In the previous season , Vipers clinched both the league title and the Stanbic Uganda Cup. Despite Police FC finishing as runners-up, KCCA FC was selected to participate in the series.
In the 2023 series, KCCA faced Libya’s Abu Salim in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round at Kitende. Despite a valiant effort with a 3-2 victory, KCCA FC ultimately bowed out 5-4 on aggregate, failing to progress to the group stages of the Confederation Cup.
