BUL Football Club and Jinja City Queens have solidified a groundbreaking partnership aimed at advancing women’s football, effective as of April 25, 2024. The two-year collaboration encompasses several key initiatives designed to empower female athletes and foster community engagement.
Under the terms of the agreement, BUL will officially embrace Jinja City Queens as its women’s football team while allowing them to maintain their distinctive brand identity. BUL say this move underscores their commitment to supporting women’s football and promoting gender inclusivity within the sport.
Jinja City Queens will display the logos of Fortune Butto, the main sponsor of BUL, and the Eastern Giants on their apparel. In addition to branding support, BUL will provide financial assistance, training equipment, boots, and team jerseys to bolster Jinja City Queens’ resources.
The partnership extends beyond material support, with BUL offering technical expertise and knowledge exchange opportunities to enhance the capabilities of Jinja City Queens’ technical team. The deal was formalized during a signing ceremony at BUL’s premises in Masese, Jinja City, attended by officials from both clubs.
Ronald Barente, Chairman of BUL FC, emphasized that the partnership with Jinja City Queens as a strategic move to nurture a community-oriented team. This sentiment was echoed by Hajji Swaibu Kitezaala, Director of Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA), who expressed gratitude for the collaboration and its potential impact on the local football landscape.
Barbra Nyaruguru, Chairperson of Jinja City Queens, conveyed appreciation for being chosen as BUL’s partner and pledged to uphold the club’s standards.
