Wakiso Giants Beat Gaddafi While Bright Stars’ Safety Remains Uncertain

Wakiso Giants triumphed over Gaddafi with a resounding 3-0 victory at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium on Thursday 2nd May in the Startimes Uganda Premier League.

The standout performance of the game came from Shariph Kimbowa who netted two goals and provided an assist for Kenneth Kimera, sealing the victory for Wakiso Giants.

This crucial win propels Wakiso Giants closer to safety in the league standings, as they now boast 29 points, placing them eight points above the relegation zone with four matches remaining in the season.

On the other hand, Gaddafi dropped to 15th place in the standings with 19 points following the loss. The defeat serves as a setback for the team as they remain in the relegation-threatened zone.

In another league fixture, UPDF secured a vital 1-0 victory over Soltilo Bright Stars, with Muwanga Bernard finding the back of the net. This win sees UPDF move to 21 points, although they must win their remaining four matches to stave off relegation.

Despite currently holding 10th place with 30 points, Soltilo Bright Stars cannot rest easy, as they are not yet safe from the threat of relegation.

League action continues on Sunday 5th May as Busoga United visit Express at Mutesa II stadium.
