The National Insurance Corporation (NIC) Netball Club of Uganda has won the East Africa Netball Club Championships for the second year in a row, following a hard-fought victory over countrymen Prisons Netball Club.
NIC’s win came after an intense match, where both teams entered with flawless records, each having won all their previous games in the tournament. The final saw NIC outplay Prisons to clinch the title, cementing their dominance in the regional competition.
Prior to the championship game, Prisons Netball Club showcased their strength by defeating KVZ (Zanzibar) 57-32, Warriors (Tanzania) 73-12, ZIMAMOTO (Zanzibar) 73-26, and JKT (Tanzania) 60-26.
Their formidable form was matched by NIC, who also recorded comprehensive victories against ZIMAMOTO (Zanzibar) 58-22, JKT (Tanzania) 45-21, Warriors (Tanzania) 84-13, KIUT (Tanzania) 74-19, and USIMIAJE (Tanzania) 41-33.
The final game was a testament to NIC’s resilience and tactical superiority, allowing them to secure all possible points in the tournament.
