Uganda Cranes forward Allan Okello has opened up about the midfielder he feels most comfortable playing with. During a Q&A session on the X platform, using the hashtag #ASKO, the Vipers star revealed that he thoroughly enjoyed playing alongside KCCA’s Joel Sserunjogi. The duo helped Lango Province win the 4th edition of the FUFA Drum at the MTN Omondi Stadium on March 23rd, defeating Busoga Region in the final.
“I love playing with my teammates now,” Okello said. “Playing with Joel in the Drum final was fantastic, and playing with Zaga in national colors was great too.” Okello, who suffered an injury at the start of the season after joining Vipers, played a crucial role in their title chase despite not winning. His impressive performance earned him a call-up to the national team by coach Paul Put for the June World Cup qualifiers against Botswana and Algeria.
Sserunjogi, who penned a three-year deal with KCCA, Okello’s former team, also received a national team call-up after a spectacular performance with the Kasasiro Boys. Okello responded to various fan queries on the X platform, including his ambition to play in a top European league someday. He believes hard work is the key to achieving this goal.
Okello also addressed his move to Paradou FC in North Africa, stating that he doesn’t regret it as it was a valuable learning experience.
