As Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium, also known as Hamz Stadium reopens its doors to the public today, the football teams will have prize money to play for in the two test matches.
Two highly anticipated test matches will be played to mark the grand reopening of the refurbished stadium. The first match will see the Tax Collectors, URA, take on the newly crowned champions of the Uganda Cup, Kitara, kicking off at 4pm.
This will be followed by a clash where traditional rivals, seven-time champions Express will play 17-time champions SC Villa, who also double as the current Uganda Premier League Champions. The game promises to be a very exciting one, and it’ll start off at 7pm under the lights.
Adding to the excitement, the winning team of each match will walk away with a hefty prize of UGX 10 million. Even the losing teams will not go home empty-handed, as they will each receive UGX 5 million for their participation.
Furthermore, the man of the match in each game will be awarded an additional UGX 1 million, ensuring that all players will give their absolute best performances to claim the coveted prize money.
In total, a staggering UGX 32 million in prize money will be up for grabs during these thrilling test matches at Hamz Stadium
