The Uganda Cranes camp has received a significant boost ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifier matches against Botswana and Algeria, with the arrivals of key players to the team’s residential training camp.
Confirmed on the Uganda Cranes’ official X handle, the team has welcomed the addition of captain Khalid Aucho (Yanga SC, Tanzania), Abdu Aziz Kayondo (MFK Vyskov, Czech Republic), and Fahad Aziz Bayo (MFK Vyskov, Czech Republic) to the squad this morning.
The arrival of these players comes after the team received a boost yesterday with the arrival of forward Steven Mukwala, who has joined the camp from his Ghanaian club side Asante Kotoko.
The players are part of the 28-man provisional squad selected by head coach Paul Put to represent the Uganda Cranes in the upcoming qualifiers, which are set to be played on June 7th and 10th at the Namboole Stadium.
Additionally, the team is expected to be further strengthened by the arrival of Cranes midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga, who is also expected to join the squad from Austin FC, USA.
The arrival of these experienced internationals is a timely boost for the Uganda Cranes, as they look to secure positive results against Botswana and Algeria in their bid to secure a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
