Juventus forward Arkadiusz Milik is expected to miss the upcoming European Championship due to a knee injury sustained in Poland’s recent warm-up match against Ukraine. Poland’s manager, Kacper Probierz, confirmed the unfortunate news following his team’s 3-1 victory on Friday.
“Milik will not go to the European Championships, and I have three other players at risk of leaving. We have to make arrangements with the medical staff,” Probierz stated, as reported by Calciomercato.
Milik, who has been playing a secondary role to Dusan Vlahovic at Juventus, was anticipated to be a key player for Poland this summer. However, his involvement in the tournament was cut short following a severe collision with Genoa midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi. The incident occurred as Milik’s trailing leg remained stuck during a tackle attempt, causing significant pain and forcing his substitution.
Before returning to Juventus, Milik will undergo additional medical evaluations in Poland. The initial prognosis does not look favorable for the forward. This season, Milik appeared in 32 Serie A matches for Juventus, scoring four goals. Despite his participation, he only started seven league games, reflecting his limited role under Massimiliano Allegri’s management.
In light of Milik’s injury, Juventus is reportedly exploring options to strengthen their forward line, with Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood emerging as a potential target. The Italian club has already initiated talks to bring the English forward to Turin.
