Who is Ellio Carpradossi? The Cranes Defender Who Impressed Against Botswana

Elio Capradossi, the highly talented 28-year-old defender, has opened up about his remarkable journey from his early days in Kampala to his rise in Italian football.

Born to an Italian father and a Congolese mother, Capradossi has strong ties to Uganda given that he was born in Kampala and is now proud to represent the Uganda Cranes, having previously played for Italy’s junior national teams but never reaching the senior squad.

Speaking to FUFA media, Capradossi shared his fond memories of playing football with his father in Entebbe and Rome. He idolized Brazilian defender Juan, drawing inspiration from his style of play, and always harboureded dreams of playing for Uganda.

Capradossi expressed gratitude for the warm welcome from his new teammates, particularly highlighting the support of Nelson Senkatuka, and shared his excitement about contributing to the team’s success.

Reflecting on his historic debut for Uganda, Capradossi noted the immense joy and gratitude he felt, especially with his father beaming with pride in attendance.

“As a team player, I believe that united we can achieve greatness, and I’m committed to contributing my experience and skills to help the team succeed, rather than trying to be a solo hero,” Capradossi said.

Capradossi’s career highlights include a promotion milestone with Spezia in Serie B and debuting for AS Roma’s first team.
