Ashraf Mugume Signs Three-Year Contract Extension With KCCA

KCCA midfielder Ashraf Mugume has signed a three-year contract extension with the club, committing his long-term future to the 13-time Uganda Premier League Champions.

The 24-year-old put pen to paper on a new three-year contract, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2026–27 season.

Mugume joined KCCA in June 2020, and signed a four-year deal. And after establishing himself as a key figure in the club’s midfield over the past three seasons, he has now extended his stay at the Lugogo-based club.

Ashraf Mugume had a very successful 2023/24 campaign, having netted 7 league goals, the third most in the club behind Muhammad Shaban Jagason and Usama Arafat.

Speaking after his contract extension, Mugume expressed his delight at committing his future to the club.

“I feel delighted to commit my future to KCCA FC. I have been happy since joining the club in 2020,” he said.

The midfielder went on to highlight the challenges he faced during his initial days at the club, but praised his teammates for helping him settle in.

“The first days at the club were a little tough as I had to adapt to a new environment, but thanks to my teammates that made me feel at home,” Mugume revealed.

Mugume now believes he has grown as a player and gained valuable experience over the years. “I am now a better player and have gained experience over the years,” he stated confidently.

“I am fully committed to the club and I want to win with KCCA FC,” he added.

The player’s renewed deal will also come with the added bonus of his continued involvement with the Uganda Cranes and the country’s U23 national team, which he has represented during his time at KCCA.
