The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has wrapped up a series of workshops aimed at strengthening the capacity of its new Match Commissioner panel for the 2026–2028 term.
The final session runs from 22–23 April at the Egyptian Football Association headquarters in 6th of October City, capping a month-long programme that trained more than 200 commissioners nominated by CAF Member Associations.
Each association put forward two men and two women, reflecting CAF’s commitment to inclusivity and professionalism.
Match Commissioners oversee match organisation, compliance with regulations, security, media operations and referee coordination, while submitting detailed reports to CAF after each fixture. The workshops provided operational guidance and practical training to ensure competitions are delivered with integrity and efficiency.
CAF says the initiative reinforces its determination to uphold the highest standards in African football management.
