Namilyango College Triumphs in Central Schools 7’s Circuit 1

Namilyango College emerged victorious in the Central Schools 7’s Circuit 1, displaying remarkable prowess in a series of dominant performances. The tournament, held at Namilyango College, showcased the top rugby talent from various high schools in the region.

In the quarter-finals, Namilyango College secured a commanding 31-0 victory over London College, demonstrating their strength from the outset. Luigi Giussani High School advanced by defeating Vienna 17-5, while Budo overcame defending champions Hana with a 19-0 scoreline. The match between Greenhill Academy and MACOS ended in a close 12-7 win for MACOS, setting the stage for an exciting round of semi-finals.

Namilyango continued their winning streak in the semi-finals, edging out Budo with a hard-fought 12-5 victory. MACOS, building on their quarter-final success, defeated Luigi Giussani 24-5, earning their place in the final.

The final match saw Namilyango College facing MACOS in a highly anticipated clash. Namilyango’s superior strategy and execution led them to a resounding 40-7 win, securing their title as champions of the Central Schools 7’s Circuit 1.

Namilyango College’s triumph comes on the heels of their U20 success in the central schools rugby league earlier this year. The second circuit will happen on 23rd June at St. Peters Naalya.
