The Gladiators, Uganda’s National Kabaddi Men’s Team, are set to compete in the Africa Kabaddi Championships, which will be held from June 23rd to 30th, 2024, in Kasarani, Kenya. The tournament will feature 13 nations vying for the prestigious African title.
During the flag-off ceremony at Lugogo, Mr. James Kasumba of the National Council of Sports (NCS) encouraged the team with a rousing speech. “Conquer Africa,” urged Kasumba, motivating the players as they prepared to embark on their journey.
The Gladiators recently returned from a successful campaign in Bangladesh, where they participated in the Bangabandhu International Kabaddi Cup.
Their performance there has boosted the team’s confidence as they aim to leverage this experience to secure the African title.
