The champions SC Villa were the most recognised team of the seven teams awarded on the day taking home a total of 10 accolades.

Villa’s Patrick Kakande dominated proceedings with four awards including; the Player of the Season, Young Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season, and also featured in the Team of the Season.

The 17-time SUPL champions’ head coach Dusan Stojanovic was named both the Manager of the Season and the Coach of the Best XI.

Additionally, The Jogoos’ outgoing captain Kenneth Ssemakula and midfielder Ronald Ssekiganda were also named in the Best IX, whilst the latter was also named as the Midfielder of the Season.

It is also important to note that the late Henry Batambuze who was recognised for the Platinum Award once served as the Villa Patron.

BUL who were runners-up last season again occupied the same position in the Awards with four accolades.

The Oil Manufacturers’ goalkeeper Tom Ikara and defender Ronald Otti were rewarded for the most clean sheets, and Defender of the Season, respectively.

Otti was thereafter joined by another of his teammates Nicholas Mwere in the Best XI of the campaign.

Similarly, the 2023/24 Stanbic Uganda Cup winners Kitara FC also had four awards to their name.

The Royals’ custodian Chrispas Kusiima and striker Denis Omedi were crowned Goalkeeper of the Season and Coaches’ Player of the Season, respectively. The duo was also named in the Best XI of the season.

Meanwhile, KCCA bagged three accolades with striker Muhammad Shaban taking the top scorer award with 17 goals. He was also included in the Best IX alongside his teammate, midfielder Joel Sserunjogi.

Vipers and Maroons managed two awards each. The Venoms were awarded the Fair Play Team of the Season while their striker Yunus Sentamu’s strike against Wakiso Giants was voted as the Goal of the Season.

Maroons midfielder Abraham Tusubira was named in the Best XI on top of his Playmaker’s award with 10 assists.

Uganda Cup losing finalists NEC had the least number of awards, one of which went to defender Joseph Dhata after he was named in the Best XI.

A total of 26 awards were given out to 15 different recipients.
