The Futsal Association Uganda (FAU) has announced a comprehensive competition calendar for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
In addition to the flagship betPawa Futsal Super League (FSL), the calendar features the return of the Futsal Uganda Cup and the Futsal Super Cup.
Notably, FAU has also introduced a brand-new U17 Futsal League, aimed at nurturing the next generation of Ugandan futsal talent.
The betPawa FSL season kicked off on July 1st, with a meeting between club representatives and FAU officials to discuss the way forward.
The 2024/25 draft fixtures will be released on August 1st, ahead of the league’s start on September 27th, 2024.
In addition, the inaugural U17 Futsal League is scheduled to commence on December 20, 2024, providing a platform for the country’s rising stars to showcase their skills.
The Futsal Uganda Cup will then take centre stage, with the competition set to begin on February 7th next year.
The season will culminate in a thrilling Futsal Super Cup showdown on June 13th, 2025, where the betPawa FSL champions will face off against the Futsal Uganda Cup winners in a highly anticipated clash.
FAU has also confirmed that the transfer window for the 2024/25 season is now open, with the deadline set for Saturday, September 21st. Clubs will be eager to strengthen their squads ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Futsal is a football-based game played on a hardcourt like a basketball court, smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football and indoor football.
