The Rugby Cranes are set to face Senegal in the 2024 Rugby Africa Cup fifth-place final on Sunday following a 25-15 win over Burkina Faso today.
Center Shakim Sembusi and fullback Phillip Wokorach scored tries, along with a penalty try, to secure the home side’s victory in their fifth-place semifinal at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
The match was part of the second matchday, which also saw Senegal defeat Ivory Coast 25-8 in the opener.
In other fixtures, Algeria will face Zimbabwe in their first-ever final, while Kenya will play Namibia in the third-place match. Burkina Faso will take on Ivory Coast in the seventh-place playoff.
Algeria upset two-time winners Kenya 20-12, while Zimbabwe displayed impressive form to defeat defending champions Namibia 32-10.
