Coming together as groups of fans attached to different European football clubs is globally embraced.

However, being recognized by a particular club of your interest is special because it takes a lot of effort.

A section of passionate Manchester United fans in Uganda came together in 2018 with an ultimate target of forming a huge Manchester United fans club in Uganda.

And today, Manchester United Supporters Club In Uganda – MSCU is fully recognized by the most successful and recognized club in English football after they were granted formal affiliation in April 2024.

“The reason to form MUSC was to create a football family in Uganda that comes together to show loyalty to Manchester United,” the Club’s Chairman David Asaba Bashiisha stated.

“We intend to do it through fans engagement, support the team financially in any way for a long term sustainability of the club.”

“More so, we are targeting socialization of the Man United fans,” he added.

They will hold their annual general meeting on Saturday, July 27 at Tales Lounge in Bukoto, the first of its kind.

“The end goal is to create an impact to our club financially and socially through moral support of the club and players. They will recognise that even in Uganda, a group of fans came together for such support.”

“Additionally, as a group we would want to impact society in Uganda through bringing communities together especially those in need (CSR). We want to show an impact as MUSC-UG to the societies in need,” Bashiisha noted.

Manchester United travelled to the United States of America on Wednesday to continue with their preseason and will face rivals Arsenal in a friendly on Sunday morning.
