Vipers and BUL will be seeking to make history when they meet in the 2024 FUFA Super 8 final.
It is important to note that no team has won this competition more than once before but that will inevitably change this year.
KCCA won it in the inaugural season in 2018, and Vipers dethroned the Kasasiro Boys in 2019 before BUL clinched it in 2023.
Therefore, the winner of the final between Vipers and BUL will have the honour of becoming the first team to win the FUFA Super 8 twice.
Should the Oil Manufacturers defeat the Venoms, they will not only become the first team to win the FUFA Super 8 more than once but also the first team to win it back to back.
Road To Final
BUL eliminated Maroons 4-1 on aggregate in the quarterfinals before edging Kitara 1-0 in the semifinals through Pascal Ngobi’s goal.
On the other hand, Vipers dumped out NEC on away goals rule after a 1-1 aggregate scoreline in the quarters before Allan Okello’s late goal earned them a 1-0 win over the Uganda Cranes Select Team in the semifinals.
This will be the third time in three years that Vipers and BUL battle for a trophy in the final.
In 2021, the Venoms thrashed the Oil Manufacturers 8-1 to win the Stanbic Uganda Cup before the latter avenged the former 3-1 in 2022 to win their first-ever title, the Uganda Cup.
