“We took part in a very competitive league last season and managed to win the title and we remain with the same winning spirit,” head coach Ayub Khalifa said at the presser.

“It has been a rollercoaster of a journey for us and the management has fully supported the team and after thorough preparation I believe we are ready for the battle.”

The 20-woman team will be captained by Phiona Nabulime who has trust in his teammates to make a good account of themselves.

“We are a strong team with a lot of talent and potential to perform well and that was evident with the effort each player put in during our preparations,” Nabulime noted.

The club president Zuraika Kibirige noted that Kawempe are serial and renowned winners and that should motivate the players.
