Martin Kizza Lubwama, a 26-year-old Ugandan forward, has officially joined Fasil Kenema Sport Club in the Ethiopian Premier League.
Kizza, who was recently released by Uganda’s six-time Premier League champions Vipers, has signed a two-year contract with the Ethiopian side.
Kizza brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously played for top Ugandan clubs including KCCA FC, Express FC, and SC Villa.
His career also includes stints in South Africa with Free State Stars and Royal Eagles. His move to Fasil Kenema SC marks the latest chapter in his professional journey, which has seen him earn 14 caps for the Uganda Cranes.
The Ethiopian Premier League has become a popular destination for Ugandan footballers in recent years.
Kizza joins a growing list of Ugandans plying their trade in the league, including Geoffrey Wasswa at Ethiopian Bunna, Nafian Alionzi at Defense Force Football Club, Charles Musiige at Diradawa, and Thomas Ikara at Sidama Bunna.
Notably, Kizza follows in the footsteps of fellow Ugandans Yasser Mugerwa and Diego Hamis Kizza, who have also previously played for Fasil Kenema SC.
Kizza’s addition to Fasil Kenema SC is expected to bolster the club’s attacking options as they aim for success in the upcoming season.
