As the countdown to the new Uganda Premier League season begins, Mbale Heroes Football Club are working tirelessly to ensure their historic return to the top flight is marked with a home advantage.
The Eastern Giants, who have been absent from the league for over a decade, are currently undergoing extensive renovations at their home ground, the Mbale Municipal Stadium.
The stadium, unfortunately, was deemed unfit to host Uganda Premier League matches by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) due to its dilapidated condition.
To rectify this, a team of workers has been on site, focusing on crucial areas such as repainting the dressing rooms, remodelling the toilet and bathroom facilities, and patching up the pavilion and stadium fence.
The club’s executives have reassured fans that these renovations are progressing rapidly and will be completed before the start of the season.
Mbale Heroes are scheduled to kick off their campaign on Saturday, September 14th, at 7 PM away to Express Football Club at the Hamz Stadium Nakivubo.
However, the club remains hopeful that they will be able to host their subsequent home matches at the Mbale Municipal Stadium, providing their loyal supporters with the opportunity to cheer them on in their backyard.
